What I Have To Give You and Two Custom Finishes

During a week of so much turmoil, criticism and cynical discussion,
I just wanted to post something positive.  I believe that what we send out to others, we get back twice fold. So, I'm sending you kindness and graciousness. I'm reminding you of your great value, your self worth and your importance.

To quote, "The Help" ( one of my favorite movies right up there with Forrest Gump ) -
"You is Kind,

"You is Smart"

"You is Important"

These simple words go a very long way with me and I hope they do the same for you. We don't know what our future holds, but we do know we have a future. We have the right to make it the very best we can and to choose happiness.

This week, like probably most of you, I've been reflecting on my day to day activities, my own family and the future of my business.  Big events always trigger reflection for me and I bet I'm not alone.

So, today, I send you art.  The colors, the textures, the calm I hope it brings you.  Blue is relaxing and paired with tonal shades, it soothes my soul.

I can't give you money or security but I do have kindness to give you.  I hope that my art can inspire you. I want to be able to motivate you to create your own art, in your own form.  Whether it be in gardening, painting, collecting or even graphic design, I want to encourage you to share your gift.
We all need one another.

These two pieces were both custom commissioned and I'm always a happy girl when I get to use some of my favorite colors.  This second piece is for my mom.  She had a very special birthday and I love knowing I will see this piece in her home. I mixed paint brands ( I try not to do that ) on this one because she chose her colors and well, I didn't argue. The base is Feathered Nest from Heirloom Traditions and all the other colors are from CeCe Caldwell's.

The buffet in this post is Sante Fe Turquoise and Windsor Blue, also colors from CeCe Caldwell's paint. This piece now lives near Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Thank you Dionne <3 I agree with everything you said! Kindness and forgiveness goes a long way in this world and when it is missing it weighs heavy on the heart. Your work is inspiring and the sweetness of your heart shows in every piece.
